1969 Ford Boss 302 Race Car (Roger Briere driven, CASC-Series 1969 - 1971 primarily GP3R)

This 1969 Ford Boss 302 was sold through a Canadian Ford Dealership, Gerard Grenier Auto (Nicolet, Quebec) to racing car driver Roger Briere. Roger previously drove a 1965 Mustang Coupe and later a 1966 K-code Mustang Fastback with good success, most notably winning in class at the 1967 Le Grand Prix de Trois Rivières (GP3R). He campaigned this Boss 302 from 1969 through 1971 in the CASC Series, and it is known that he had two 5th places at the GP3R in 1969 & 1971. During these and other events in Canada, he drove against prominent Canadian drivers of the American Trans-Am Series. In Sept. of 1969, Briere finished 3rd in the "Sportscar" class at Mont-Carmel Speedway behind Jean-Guy Roy (1st) and Leon Alain (2nd). Again, in June of 1971, he raced at Mont-Carmel Speedway (non-American Trans-Am Series) in the "Trans-Am" class with the same notable competitors among others. It has an original Boss 302 engine, a Ford close-ratio Toploader transmission (Race Upgraded), and Ford 9" Rearend. Its period racing suspension and chassis modifications including metal body flares remain in place. Its 4-point roll bar was upgraded to a period Ford TA-style roll cage for safety.
Period and period-style mods: Trans-Am spec. roll cage, Stewart Warner gauges, Boss 302 engine with Bud Moore Engineering Mini Plenum Intake & Oil pan, Kirkey race seat, metal rear panels replaced seating, fuel cell, rear disc brakes, Panhard bar rear suspension, and American Racing 200S "Coke Bottle" 15-inch wheels.
